Bro, you got an invitation to a book club about your book AND they had arroz con pollo on deck?! That's the dream man! Nah but for real... awesome post, awesome photo too. My boy and I are still pumped & had a ton of fun that night.

It was pretty damn dope man, I was shocked by the hospitality. And man, it was so cool to have you and your homie there at the BX launch. I'll remember that night for the rest of my life and I'm happy you were part of it.

How wonderful to have that experience, and what a fantastic group! You must have been floating after that, so I'm so glad your wife persuaded you to go! I love hearing from readers about what they like and don't like. It makes it all worthwhile.

I really loved reading this 🥹 especially as an author that’s 5 months out…thanks for sharing your experience, your thoughts, the things that matter. They resonate with me, too ❤️

I echo this! I've done lots of in-person book club events, each one a joy. I remember the first time a book club reached out to me, it felt, as you describe, a surprise, and the turning up at the host's house took some convincing of my brain that I hadn't completely misread the invite, it felt odd the first time. Yet there they all were, and groups like them since, intelligent, avid readers with questions and curiosity, and generosity, too. That direct connection to readers is unbeatable. I love it.

It certainly is unbeatable. I'm really happy I got the chance to experience it in person. Thanks for reading, Eleanor.

Andrew this is so good. You managed to capture something that I relate to so much but I have never been able to articulate. Switching from dad mode to public mode is cool and also a mindfuck

Appreciate that, Chris! Means a lot to hear that resonated with you since you're in the same boat. Best of luck as the book drops. My pro-tip: Always triple-check for stains on your shirt...
